About Us

Mission

Black Lives Matter Dayton is a social justice and political organization established May 25, 2019 by a team of local Black activists to raise the awareness of issues that impact the Black  community of Dayton through education, mobilization, and direct political action.  Additionally, we serve the needs of the Black community acting as conduits for information in the event  of community crises such as police brutality or inequitable actions that pose a direct threat to the community.

Vision

We aim to strengthen and empower Black people to work as a collective to protect their best interests while addressing the historical trauma of systemic white supremacy and racism that impacts the Black family structure.

The goal is to cultivate cultural empowerment that’s self-sustaining by means of reparations with the understanding that Black people are major contributors to this country’s existence.
